I am writing in support of Evan Taylor.

It has been my pleasure to coach Evan since the summer of 2022. It was clear from our first lesson that Evan had a strong desire to play golf to a high level, to succeed amongst his peers within Surrey and to compete in national events.

Our weekly lessons have been both rewarding and successful and we have seen him progress his game reducing his handicap from 6 to his lowest index of 1 in early 2024.

The improvement in his game has enabled him to compete in many more events at his home club of Camberley Heath where he is a valued member of the Junior Team as well as in County Championships and National U16 Tournaments.

His coaching schedule sees us meet every week to progress all areas of his technique and ensure his knowledge allows him to practice efficiently. We pay particular attention to his on course playing statistics which he records for every round so we can refine his coaching content and make sure key areas of his game are being developed.

Evan has a full and powerful golf swing and I am excited to see how his physical strength will develop and allow him to create more opportunities for lower scoring. He also possesses a very good short game and his on course stats show his ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities and to save strokes when required.

These qualities and his personality would make him an excellent member of a college team and I know that his commitment to his studies matches his desire to become a good player.

It is a natural step for Evan to attend a University in America where he can benefit from regular competition, train with a like-minded team around him, create a schedule of practice to continue to grow his game and foremost to develop himself with a great education.

I have no hesitation in recommending Evan to a University Coach, and I am confident he will be an asset to the team and a great reflection on his school.
