I am writing to support Ethan Lawrence’s application for University. I have known Ethan for just over 4 years. When we first started working together he was a 15 handicapper but showed a lot of potential.

Ethan is punctual and always prepared for his lessons. He shows a lot of enthusiasm and has a great drive to learn and improve. He is hard working and shows a lot of dedication to practice outside his lessons. He is a pleasure to teach, always turning up with a good mindset, ready for a productive lesson of technical work, drills and skills tests using Trackman. This has all paid off as he was awarded “Most Improved Junior Member” in 2023/24 at Parkstone Golf Club’s Trophy Night, which is a great achievement given his low handicap against players of a lot higher. Ethan has also been nominated as our Junior Captain for 2025/26 which shows how much he is respected by the club and members.

He makes the most of any given opportunity to get out on the golf course and compete in events at different clubs. Even when on holidays, he uses the opportunity to play, for example in Cornwall and Scotland to help his understanding of course management on different styles and expand his knowledge of the game.

I strongly believe that the right University would allow Ethan to achieve his full potential with his golf and education and for him to grow as an individual. Ethan would be an asset to whichever University that is lucky enough to have him represent them.
