I first met Taylor in an after-school golf club I ran at Clifton College Prep School. It was evident, within a very few shots, that Taylor was a uniquely talented and coordinated ball striker. The natural compression and noise of the strike was incredible.

Taylor’s swing was overly long but her talent was so great, that she was able to win a county under 18’s girls championship at just 13 years old.

I started working with Taylor on a full-time basis in 2022 as she entered Clifton College Upper School. My main aim and challenge was to keep Taylor’s natural ability but also add consistency to her motion and also to give Taylor a library that she could understand her own swing, to enable her to manage her game better as a result.

The core things we have always worked on together are club face, plane, connection and rotation.

Taylor is the most coachable young athlete, an exceptional practicer and has always been prepared to listen and learn and take on any drills that I have introduced.

As per any good player-coach relationship, Taylor always asks intelligent questions and she has the strength of personality to say what she’s feeling and is never scared to speak up.

Taylor is in charge of her own game, and I have been delighted and proud to play a part in watching her improvement and her successful results.

Taylor would be an incredible addition to any university team, she has been the figure head of Clifton College golf for some time and leads by example. She has a wonderful quality of also encouraging less talented golfers.

Taylor still has massive untapped potential and having worked closely with one of England’s top golf stats coaches, she is clearly aware of her weaknesses. Taylor’s work rate and dedication this winter to those areas has been outstanding.

The future for Taylor is most definitely bright on the course, but also off the course as a person with this vibrancy and attitude can only succeed in life.

It’s been an utmost pleasure to be a continuing part of Taylor’s journey up the golfing ladder.
